The Christmas Cookies You’re Going To Want To Make This Holiday Season
What I call "Christmas cookies" are just vanilla cookies cut into Christmas shapes and covered in colorful holiday icing. They taste like shortbread, but not buttery or crumbly. They're as classic as vanilla cookies.
This particular cookie recipe is designed to cut out shapes - in this case, Christmas shapes. Most cookies spread and puff up so they bear little resemblance to the shape you expect!
But they hold their shape perfectly – as you can see from the sharp ridges and corners in the picture below.
What you need for Christmas cookies
The beauty of these Christmas cookies is that they're made from pantry staples - so there's no need to add them to your ever-growing Christmas shopping list!
How to Make Christmas Cookies
Unlike most cut-out cookie doughs, this recipe requires no cooling time. No one has time to relax during the craziness of Christmas – right? ? !
Pros: The dough is easy to work with and can be chopped and rolled again and again until all the leftovers are used.
