Weight Lifting Workout Routine - Fat Loss Circuit!
Looking for a good weight lifting workout routine you can do that will help shed some of that unwanted fat? Well, look no further. I've designed just what you're looking for. The program I'm about to go over is set up as a circuit. Circuit training is without a doubt the best training method to burn fat.
What makes it so effective is the fact that the circuits are considered "high intensity" since you're not resting between sets and when you train at high intensities, lactic acid is increased. Lactic acid is basically a product of anaerobic metabolism that eventually inhibits muscular contraction.
When you're lactic acid levels are elevated, it triggers the release of growth hormone from the pituitary gland which in turns, helps transport fatty acids into the mitochondria for oxidization. In other words, it helps you burn more fat.
Circuit training workouts are also excellent because they enable you to get the most amount of work done within a given amount of time. Without further ado, here's the workout.
Weight Lifting Workout Routine
The Circuit
Squats (Dumbbells or Barbell)
Push Ups
Lunges (Dumbbells or Barbell)
Pull Ups (Assisted If Necessary)
Standing Shoulder Press (Dumbbells)
Duel Dumbbell Curls
Lying Triceps Extension (Dumbbells)
Notes: Once you're done the circuit, rest for 2 minutes, get a drink of water etc. and then go through it again, then again. You're going to be going through this a total of 3 times. Remember, don't rest longer than 10 seconds or so as you transition between exercises.
Once you've done 3 sets of 10-12 repetitions for each exercise, you can then move on to these core exercises (thought you were done, didn't you?).
Core Exercises
Seated Medicine Ball Twists
Medicine Ball Crunches
Leg Raises
Lower Back Extensions
Notes: These exercises can be done in circuit format or you can do them one at a time. Just make sure that you perform 3 sets of each.
That's Great, But I Want To See The Exercises Being Performed!
Don't even worry about it, I got you covered. You can view step by step instructions and even video demonstrations showing how to perform each of the exercises discussed above..
